We’ve just returned from a brunch-fuelled jaunt across the United States and, now that our jet lag has subsided, will be sharing all our foodie finds with you.
Pretty much as soon as you mention that you’re going to New York breakfast-enthusiasts will bring up Bluestone Lane. It’s the iconic Aussie spot, and much-loved for its great coffee and homesickness-curing smashed avocado.
We were lucky enough to be some of the first people to try out their whizz-bang, brand new Manhattan West location and can confirm that it delivered everything we expected and had been told of.
- the pea and mint smash with sea salt, e.v.o.o, chilli flakes and a dollop of creamy coconut yoghurt
- the brekkie board, with a half serve each of the collective granola and the avocado smash
- the gluten free banana bread with fresh ricotta, toasted pecans, fresh berries and drizzled with honey
- the rainbow bowl with quinoa, spinach, cabbage, spiralled carrot, feta, house made salsa, avocado, pepitas, a herbed yoghurt dressing and a poached egg
The brekkie board was an absolute winner for me. The granola is paired with a delicious citrus curd that works perfectly. Definitely pop these guys on your NYC brunch list!
