Amy is one of my favourite bloggers. She is the wife of much-loved Channel 7 Sports Presenter and Commentator Basil Zempilas, and talks about all things family, food, fashion and beyond on her blog – absoluteamy.com. She has a heart of gold, and it’s with great pleasure that I introduce Amy Zempilas x
- Please tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a proud wife and mumma to two girls, Ava 4 and Chloe 2 – I also have my own lifestyle blog Absolute Amy where I share everything from recipes to fitness, fashion, beauty and loads more.
- What are your top cafes for breakfast in Perth ?
There are so many incredible breakfast spots in Perth – many which I still have on my list to visit, including Little Bird Cafe and Flora and Fauna and the newly opened Pearth Organic Kitchen – they all have amazingly healthy food presented beautifully. We often head to Kailis in Leederville for breakfast with our girls – it’s consistently excellent service, great food and coffee. We also love The Kiosk in Floreat as it’s right on the beach – we can have a swim, then enjoy a fresh juice and yummy breakfast afterwards.
- Best spots to grab dinner in Perth?
Top of my list for dinner in Perth is Nobu – the yellowtail sashimi is just delicious and I can’t get enough! For a family meal we love Bathers Beach House in Freo – the girls can run and play on the beach then it’s a few steps up to enjoy dinner and cocktails overlooking the Indian Ocean. Such a stunning location – I always feel like we’re on holiday when we go there.
- When you’re at home, what’s your go-to snack?
My go to snack during Summer is fruit!! We love it! Mangoes, watermelon, raspberries and grapes from the Swan Valley! I also love cheese and biscuits, I recently discovered mini Brie cheese which is just enough for about 4 crackers – perfection.
- Best meal you’ve ever had?
The best meal I had recently was at Gazi in Melbourne, George Calombaris’s Greek restaurant – most of the menu is share food which is how I love to eat – a few bites of everything, and I LOVE Greek food so it was heaven! I cannot wait to go back.
- Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I try to live by is from my hubby, Channel 7 Sports Presenter and Commentator Basil Zempilas. His motto is to work hard, smile and be nice to people – I don’t think you can go wrong if you try your best everyday to be happy, be nice and enjoy life.
