Stumbling upon this little Italian gem was a real find. Cucinetta is located on Murphy Street, one of South Yarra’s quieter roads that comes off the bustling hub-bub that is Toorak Road. They change their menu every week (yup, that’s quite a feat!) based on what fresh produce is available. The mussels were some of the best we’ve had, and the homemade bread was a real treat. If you’re a fiend for good Italian food, this place is a must-visit.
We enjoyed;
- the caprese di melanzane
- the cozze al pomodoro and salamino
- the vialone nano risotto with pears, gorgonzola, cheese and walnuts
- the pasta of the day (with a beautiful rich, ragu sauce)
- a selection of desserts (we couldn’t decide!) – the tiramisu, basil panna cotta and a gorgeous chocolate cake
- aperol spritz (when in Italia!) and a glass of the Vigna Runc Il Carpino SB
