You’ll find Joseph Hyde nestled in a cosy laneway in Potts Point. The cafe may be small, but the food is mighty, they have a liquor licence, and they’re even open for dinner Thursday – Saturday.

Do yourself a favour and try their carrot cake waffles. They’re not too sweet, with the perfect amount of kick.

We enjoyed;

  • the croque and Jack, with free-range double-smoked ham, Monterey Jack cheese, seeded mustard, pickles, a duck egg and Sonoma sourdough
  • the ‘what’s up doc?’ carrot cake waffles with mascarpone, mixed nuts, and ribboned heirloom carrot
  • the stack, with lemon dressed rocket, potato hash, fresh tomato, avocado, asparagus, a poached egg and cured trout
  • a fresh juice
  • a Bloody Mary cocktail
